“Connecting the Orange County Queer Community, From the Piers to the Peaks”

To build a coalition of educated, well-connected, and empowered queer people and queer allies in Orange County to better equip this community to respond to bigotry and xenophobia in our hometown politics, civic systems, and local communities.

Mission

Vision

To create an environment in Orange County where queer people and queer allies feel safe, represented, respected, and appreciated. To foster strength in our community at large by building resilience, empowerment, and connection in our own backyards.

  • The LGBTQIAA2S+ community, or queer community, is made up of an incredibly diverse collection of humans. Our work must reflect the diverse faces of this community, and we work hard to ensure that all voices in this community are reflected, especially the ones that our leadership team cannot personally speak on.

  • Orange County is more diverse than it gets credit for, and we understand the importance of working with our allies to achieve our liberation. We are not free until all of us are free.

  • It’s hard to feel safe doing this work if you aren’t supported by a network of like-minded individuals, and provided the tools to do the work. Visibility without security is a trap, and we aim to provide as much of that security as we can in this work.

  • This is a cornerstone of the work we do. Whether it’s in our workshops, our conversation panels, our newsletters, our investigative work, or our one-on-one alliance building, we seek to build our own knowledge base, and to share that education with our peers.

  • When we make mistakes, we will own them. Without accountability, we have no respectability.

  • This is not a movement for this month, for this year, for this decade. This is a movement that will be built to last. Our decisions will center around that long-term vision.
